A communication process which combines top-down communication with bottom-up (or sideways) feedbacks.
Basically, multidirectional ism needs and uses networking and gives voice to any participant who wants to take an active role. Such a stand moreover enhances the work of all participants and empowers the group as a whole.
It does not however necessarily implies that the group's activity is positive for the society as a whole.
