STATE (Recurrent) 2)
← Back
Situation of a system at a given time which is repeated at other instants.
Such a repetition is never perfect. It may be a result of the invariance of most parts of the system or of the reconstruction of a former state, through some cycle or hypercycle. For example the skeleton of a living vertebrate remains without significant changes at macroscopic scale. However, this is the result of a cyclical renewal of its elements.
Or, in a manufacture the state of the stock of raw materials or goods at some moment may be similar to an previous state, after use, sales and restocking.
