GROWTH CENTER 2)
← Back
The apex or extremities of the system or some other limited sectors become its centers or poles of growth.
It seems that the possibility of more or less free interactions between an extremal zone of the system and its environment is a stimulating condition.
However, the compatibility of the new structures and functions abuilding with those already in existence is by no means guaranteed. This may then produce:
- a fission or split, which may lead to the segregation of a part of the system and, possibly to the genesis of a new system.
- an internal reorganization which may lead to an important modification of objectives, internal structures and functions or even of the very identity of the system.
- the suppression by the systems controls of the new parts or elements, seen as undesirable or dangerous.
