GROOVING 1)
← Back
The progressive reinforcement by successful repetitions in a learning process.
In the nervous system, grooving is a result of HEBB's rule of synaptic circuit reinforcement. A similar process exists in all natural or artificial learning networks, including social systems. While it is needed to stabilize knowledge, it may lead, when excessive, to overlimiting constraints, that can block further learning.
