DISCONNECTED COMPONENT 1)2)
← Back
"A component which is only part of a system incidentally or is included only because it is defined so" (T.F.H. ALLEN & T.B. STARR, 1982, p.266).
ALLEN and STARR express: "There may be weak interactions between a disconnected component and other components of the system, but these are incidental to what is recognized as the normal functioning of the system and are not involved in the main lines of communication in system functioning" (Ibid).
An example could be the introduction of some secundary or temporary cultivar in an excessively homogeneous one in order to reduce pests propagation.
