The long-term general dynamic stability of a system.
Continuity does not exclude variations, even large scale ones. However, in this condition, the system retains its basic identity and nature.
Continuity corresponds to the minimum entropy production theorem enounced by PRIGOGINE. External constraints and/or internal controls are instrumental for continuity maintenance.
